Once I saw he was going to be at UNI, I knew I had to go. I wanted to see if he really was as great of a guy as he seemed to be on MTV's World of Jenks.
Sure enough, he is.
Andrew spoke about how he got where he is today. He started out with 500 dollars in his pocket and sweet talked his way into getting into a nursing home to film Room 335. From there, he filmed a documentary in Japan about Bobby Valentine. Then, MTV called. The rest, we all know.
He spoke as if he was just one of us. Not for a second during his speech did I get the feeling he thought he was better than any one of us sitting there. He spoke about how to not take "No" for an answer. I believe he put it as, "No became a big turn on for me. If someone said "No". I said "Awesome! Great place to start"". He showed us all that we are capable of doing what we put our minds to.
He never expected to be where he is at today, but he got there.
Anyway, it was a great speech and a great question/answer session.
I even bravely asked a stupid question in which he answered. Not going to lie, I was kind of shaking the whole time he was staring at me and answering my question. Ha!!
Oh and did I mention I had front and center seats?! This kid probably makes some of the best facial expressions. Wish I could have caught them in a picture.
aaannnddd he re-tweeted me :)
