I absolutely love that this girl has hips/love handles.  Her thighs are also close to the same size as mine.  And the first thought I had when I saw her was, "Wow.  This girl is gorgeous"  Makes me feel better about having some meat on my bones!

Day 5:

A Song That Reminds You of Someone:

Beechwood 4-5789 - The Marvelettes

This song reminds me of a few someones but one in particular.

Day 4:

A Song That Makes You Sad:

Amazing Grace

It was sang at my Grandpa's funeral and I can't listen to it without bawling my eyes out.

Yup Yup

Pretty sure I am one of the only people in this world who could care less about the royal wedding.
I know its history in the making or whatever
But it is far from exciting to me.
I have been annoyed and over it since the day the two got engaged.

Jumpin on the bandwagon

Day 1 - Your Favorite Song

I have a lot of favorite songs.
I honestly do not think I have a "favorite" so I will list a couple for you:

Easy/Lucky/Free - Bright Eyes
Rock the Casbah - The Clash
Bound to Happen - The Spill Canvas
I Did it My Way - Frank Sinatra
Kiss On Me - Tyler Hilton
Stand By Me - Ben E. King
Great Divide - Hanson

I'm sure you get the picture.

Hmm

Someone just posted a status on Facebook saying that one of their favorite artists was on MTV and they hoped it didn't ruin the artist for them like it did another band.

Now, I am beyond guilty for saying "Oh my gosh, the radio ruined (insert band name here)  for me! UGH"

However, now that I look at it, how can the radio or MTV ruin a band or artist for someone?  You shouldn't like or not like a band because they are on the radio or on MTV.  I used to say that because I thought I was cool that I knew a band that others didn't and then when they hit the mainstream I was mad because everyone knew about them.

But isn't that what artists want?  Don't they want people to hear them?  Aren't they here to reach out to people all over and let their music be heard?

Just because you like a band and then they are played on a popular radio station or tv station, does not mean they need to be not liked by you.  If you are a fan of a band, a true fan that is, you should like them whether or not they get big.  If you are going to say that you no longer like a band because they are being broadcasted to millions of people, you probably didn't really like them in the first place.  That or your perception of music is messed up.

Look at the Beatles, Bob Dylan, Bon Jovi, the Clash.  The world LOOOOOVES these bands.  Each of these bands/artists started out as something small where hardly anyone knew about them.  They all soon hit it HUGE and their following never died.  In fact as the generations keep going, these bands get more and more fans.  I have never heard the "older" generation say "Oh when Bob Dylan got big, it ruined him for me.  I can't listen to him"  Hell no, they love that he got big and that he was able to reach as many people as he has.

Don't let MTV or the radio "ruin" a band or artist for you.  Just turn off the tv or radio.  Continue liking and supporting them.  You know deep inside your little heart that you knew about them before they got big.  Keep that in mind, you've been there since day one.  That should mean something.

End of my rant!
Thank you and come again :)

So True!

Then there is still:
The Beach
The Basketball Diaries
Body of Lies
and other small roles that don't count for Oscar Nominations, but still!

Jaw dropping

This girl, in my book, is the luckiest girl in the world....next to Kate Winslet that is.

sorry if your offended by a naked ass  :)

BREAKING THE SILENCE

Today was Invisible Children's Breaking the Silence.
I pledged to do it.  Well, I admit that I talked for a few minutes, but it was a super serious topic that needed to be talked about.
Otherwise, I went silent from 6 last night until 8 tonight.  So I went a little longer than 25 hours so I think it counts.
It was soooo hard not to call my mom when I needed to talk to her about Hanson being on DWTS. ha!!
Anyway, I raised 80 bucks.  Nothing compared to the dude who has raised $12,000 but shit, I did my part!
Thanks to:
Jill E.
DeAnne H.
Missy G.
My mommy
and
Miss LJ!
for donating.  I love you all very much.  These ladies know how involved I am with the Congo and are willing to fork out money to support whatever I am doing when it comes to causes like this.

In Nashville, Tennessee they are breaking the silence.  It was so touching to watch thousands and thousands of people break the silence at the same time.

So far a very awesome lady from Uganda came out and spoke.  She was so sweet and I loved hearing her story.

Now its music time!!
Landon Pigg!!!!!!!!!!  He is so sweet and amazingly talented.
and unfortunately David Archuletta (i think he has gotten worse since Idol.  at the moment, he is trying to sing Daniel Bedingfield's (?)  Gotta Get Through This. HORRIBLE cover.)

Mumford and Sons are in Austin, Texas.  I wish they were live streaming them instead of David.  Oh well.

In case you were wondering.  The initial goal was to raise $650,000
as of right now they have more than 1.6 MILLION bucks.
A-freaking-Mazing.

Landon and David singing Simon & Garfunkel's Sound of Silence.

Family&GoodFinds

Sooo today was great.  Went to Iowa City to see my brother throw the discus.  It was great to see my mom, dad, C and D.  The last time I saw my dad was a good month and a half if not more ago.  So, it was well overdue to see my family.

I got some really great things too.....

Forever Young by Bob Dylan.  I can not wait to use this book with a really great lesson in my classroom in a few years.

My Booky Wook by Russell Brand.  I fiiiiinally bought the damn thing!  Can not wait to start reading it!

Shake Hands with the Devil by Romeo Dallaire.  Oh man, this 522 page story of Lt. Gen. Dallaire and what he did in Rwanda is going to be intense!  Watched the movie this last Tuesday and needed the book ASAP.  If you don't know who he is...look him up.  He is a man with a lot more courage and determination than many.

A Long Way Gone by Ishmael Beah.  I've had my eye on this one for about 3 years now.

Finally have a TOMS shirt!  Thanks Mom!

Of course more clothes from Aerie.  I have bought 10 things from that place in the last 4 days.  Kind of addicted to their cute summer stuff.

10th pair!!!!  Thanks mom!!!!

My goals is to get my hair and weight back to what it was the first day of my Junior year of high school. Only about 3 more inches of hair to go and 8 lbs to lose!

Prom

Last night was Prom in my hometown.  It made me realize how grown up some of those "little" kids are now.  It also made me realize how old I am getting.  I went to my first Prom when I was a sophomore, I don't even remember the theme.  I went with one of the schools top wrestlers, Mike.  We were the typical movie prom date couples, big man on campus and cheerleader.  It was his Junior Prom.  Then I skipped my Junior Prom because I was all rebellious during that year.  And went my Senior year with one of my best friends at the time, Jason.  The theme was Willy Wonka.  It was cute I guess.  Prom was lame.  Both times.

Prom 2005

The boys decided they wanted to be Mr. Moneybanks from Monopoly.

Prom 2007

We were quite the group to get to cooperate to take a decent picture.

Things I don't understand

Sorry If this offends any of you.

1.  Dubstep Music -  It's the straight edge or super scene kids rave music.  Just dance to good rave music and don't incorporate the drugs or glow sticking, its amazing.  Try it.

2.  Sayings that you don't finish like:
"I just"
"I can't even"

You just what?  You can't even what?  FINISH YOUR THOUGHTS PEOPLE.

3.  Dudes at bars who are clearly not attractive that think cute girls who are attractive want to dance with them.  NO.  Leave us alone.  (Yes, im putting myself in the attractive category because I can).  If I am wearing skinny jeans, a v-neck, have facial piercings and clearly am not your type....do not bring your carpenter wearing, ugly shoe sporting, truck sweatshirt, goateed face over to me and try getting up all in my bizzznesssss.  I am the master of the spin move and making you look like a failure in front of all your friends.  So save yourself the embarrassment and just don't try.  Thanks.

4.  Snow in April.

5.  Professors who tell their class to email them if they have any questions yet do not respond to emails.  Buuut have plenty of time to send forwards to students.  Real professional people.  If you have time to send forwards, you have time to respond to an email that would only need about three words for the answer.

Labyrinth - Magic Dance

Gaaahhhh you have NOOOO idea how bad I want to watch this movie right now.
Who has a copy they want to send to me?!

To this moment (2:20 am), the Titanic sank.
RIP to all the lost souls.

In remembrance, I shall fall asleep to Titanic.

ps.  i stayed up just long enough to post this.

He is not afraid to admit he likes Hanson!!

Boys like this...

They don't exist in my world.
if you are a boy who is like this, please, cross paths with me!

“I wanted so badly to lie down next to her on the couch, to wrap my arms around her and sleep. Not fuck, like in those movies. Not even have sex. Just sleep together, in the most innocent sense of the phrase. But I lacked the courage and she had a boyfriend and I was gawky and she was gorgeous and I was hopelessly boring and she was endlessly fascinating. So I walked back to my room and collapsed on the bottom bunk, thinking that if people were rain, I was drizzle and she was hurricane.”

- John Green (Looking for Alaska)

24 hours later

I have accomplished so much in such a short amount of time.

- A 53 slide powerpoint presentation
- A math lesson
- A math menu lesson
- Two papers for human relations
- A two page grading assessment assignment
- and currently working on a two page paper for my genocide class.

I have also talked to my grandma on the phone, showered and gone to Target.

Not turning on the television makes a HUGE difference in my work habits.  Me like.

Perfect

Thats what tonight has been.
It is so nice outside.  Spring is here and I couldn't be more happy.
I am sitting on my balcony, having a drink (or four), working on homework, letting the sounds of Jason Castro, Lydia and Landon Pigg float out my windows to keep me company and the smell of people grilling is filling the air.  Oh and the sky is so clear.
If that isn't damn near perfect, I don't know what is.

I have accomplished so much in homework tonight its unbelievable.
I wish I had been this motivated all semester.
Theres always next year ;)

L&S

Not sure why, but right when I saw this, I thought of L and myself.  Long brown hair and cute dress is so L.  Blonde hair with plaid and jeans is so me.

Favorite

"To Die Would Be An Awfully Big Adventure" - Peter Pan
(original from 1902 says "will" instead of "would" but the movies say "would")

One day, I will get these words somewhere on my body.
I know that many people have them, including Mr Peter Pan himself (Jeremy Sumpter)
But I still want them.
Peter Pan is my all time favorite Disney movie.

This...

Chris Carrabba will always be one of my biggest crushes in the music industry.

WTF?!

Just got a random text message from someone and the conversation went like this...

RANDO: Hey I need your opinion.  I was getting a BJ from this girl I've been seeing and she couldn't fit it all in it was to big lol. You ever had that issue? Any ideas?

ME:  Uhhhhh who the hell is this?

RANDO:  OMG like seriously I am so sorry you recieved that text.  I just realized I miss dialed.  I do not know you at all haha opps my bad.  I feel so stupid.

RANDO:  :s Yes I'm so sorry.  Please tell me your at least a girl I said that to? Ha and not a 12 yr old boy uhh

ME:  Yeah, I'm a girl.

RANDO:  You seem pretty chill and friendly ha.  Could I may ask you for your opinion and advice?

ME:  Hahaha umm not really sure how to help you.  You may be on your own.

RANDO:  Well no offense but do you even have any experience at giving guys head though? ha

ME:  Not really something I want to discuss with some random.

RANDO:  Ok sorry.  Goodbye.  My bad.  I won't text u again.

END CONVO

Okay first of all, how do you "misdial" a text message?!  And why would you continue to talk to a random person after sending a weird text message like that?  Aaaannnddd why would someone think I would talk about my personal sex life with them when I do not know who they are?!
Weiiiiiird, man.
