Anyone and everyone should know my undying love for Dashboard (meaning I bought the hard copy from Target today AND I bought the album off of iTunes so I could have the acoustic versions as well. Yeah, I spent 23.00 on one cd today. :)) so of course I am going to not say a single bad thing about Mr. Carrabba.
Dashboard Confessional - Alter The Ending
-After 10 years, 5 full length albums, 4 EPs, and 2 compilation albums, Chris Carrabba has done it again. I can confidently say I do not think Chris will ever put out a horrible album.
A few of my favorite lines from songs are
*"I'll meet my maker clean, but Jesus the truth is I struggle so hard to believe"- Get me Right
*"Down in a local bar, out on the boulevard, the sound of an old guitar is saving you from sinking" - Belle of the Boulevard
*"There's things I know I should've mentioned sooner, but I didn't know how. I'm sorry I lost you. I never thought that this could come between us" - Water and Bridges
*"And when the sand turns to glass and all that's left is the past, I will love you still" - Hell on the Throat
Now, on with the list:
Wale - Attention Deficit
-Who doesn't need some good rap every once in awhile?
Tori Amos - Midwinter Graces
-Not your typical Christmas cd, but just as amazing.
50 Cent - Before I Self Destruct
-Because everyone needs to love and have a lil 50 in their life.
PRE-ORDER
Adam Lambert - For Your Entertainment
John Mayer - Battle Studies
Norah Jones - The Fall
all three of these I am sure will be good. So get them!
Do not get any of the free songs. The one by Harmonica Shah might be good, if you like blues. However, iTunes told me I needed to download the new version of iTunes to get the song, and well, I am too lazy to do that.

Late night remembering.
Sometimes, like tonight, I lurk my own facebook.
I found pictures I probably haven't looked at in about six months or more.
Like this one...
I had a pretty big crush on Anton once. He kissed me once, at the very corner of where my mouth meets my cheek and "I didn't know" about my feelings for him the same night Lauren "Didn't know" about someone. - Spring break '07, oh the memories.

Hey Germany,
I adore your catchy bands.
KRIEGER DES LICHTS by SILBERMOND
Be like the river that flows into the sea of iron
The matter can not distract themselves how difficult it is
Even the largest stone he has no fear
Even if it takes years until he breaks
And if thy will be asleep, then wake it again
For each of us lies the warrior
Whose courage is like a sword
But the biggest weapon is his heart.
Let us rise up
Makes you on the road
To all the warriors of Light
To all the warriors of Light
Where are you
You're needed here
Makes you on the road
To all the warriors of Light
To all the warriors of Light
Here goes to all the warriors of Light
Do not be afraid of your weaknesses
Never be afraid to discover your mistakes
Be careful, calm and free
Was also crazy from time to time
Let's not fool yourself, even when made of gold
Let yourself be dazzled, not even more, from false pride
Learn to forgive and
Learn how to captivate and liberate
Let us rise up
Makes you on the road
To all the warriors of Light
To all the warriors of Light
Where are you
You're needed here
Makes you on the road
To all the warriors of Light
To all the warriors of Light
Here goes to all the warriors of Light
And he knows his limitations and is still too far
No happiness in the distance when he does not intervene
His power is his belief nothing more,
And again and again
he is a warrior
This is a call
And here is to all warriors
to all warriors
This is a call
And is this call
to all the warriors of Light
to all the warriors of Light
Here goes to all the warriors of Light

This Is It.
This is how I spent my Halloween this year.
The film was beyond amazing. Finally, a film about Michael where he is most comfortable, a stage. The film had nothing to do at all with his money problems, his skin, his plastic surgery, the allegations against him, his troubled childhood or his children. It was simply about his music, dancing and preparing of what was to be the greatest tour of all time.
You have 9 days left to go see it, so do it.

It's Tuesday once again
New music Tuesday on iTunes usually really excites me. I am kind of bummed this week though. I did not find too many items that really caught my attention. There was only one of the three free songs that I really liked. It is in Spanish, so I don't even know what he is singing about, but I like it.
Check it:
Declaration of Dependence by Kings of Convenience. It kind of makes me wish I was on a beach, like the album cover. The songs are soothing and meaningful.
One Fast Move or I'm Gone by Benjamin Gibbard & Jay Farrar. It kind of has a hint of country, but not enough to turn me off. I think I would really enjoy this album if it weren't 16.99.
New Moon Soundtrack. Sometimes I am ashamed that I like these books and films. However, they have killer soundtracks. No one can go wrong with artists like Lykke Li, Bon Iver, Thom York, or Sea Wolf. But again, it is 14.99, a little too expensive AND most the songs are album only. So, you pretty much have to buy the album to get the good ones.
Okay, so that is all that really excited me. Whoo-hoo, right? Yeah, I am disappointed too.
Biggest disappointment is the new released Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5 album. The songs on there are classics, however, DJs got their sticky little hands on the songs and ruined them with shitty beats and horrible dance clubness. I love MJ, and this just ruined his amazing work. the end.
However, there was a good part of iTunes this week. BEST part of iTunes this week, is Frank Sinatra. Everyone knows I love him with all my heart. He is I guess one of the feature artists. So if someone has $75.45 to give away, please feel free to buy me the complete set of Frank Sinatra Discoveries. You will be my best friend for the rest of my life. Plus, who wouldn't want to say they made me the happiest girl in the world?

Once upon a time...
Lauren and I made really sweet shirts that said 'The Music Lives'. We thought we were really cool because it is a shirt Taylor Hanson used to wear. Next time I go home, I am determined to find mine.
I once wore mine to Adventureland and some dude running the rides asked me if it was a musical. He was obviously not a Hanson fan.

The Don'ts and Do's of New Music This Week.
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME on the new:
A.F.I. - it is horrible. I downloaded their free music video from iTunes today. I about threw up at one part where it looked like Davy was about to kiss a girl. I am not sure why but I was grossed out beyond belife. They are just as whiny as they were years ago. These guys are older now, lets be a bit more mature. It is not worth spending money on, or even a free download.
Weezer - First off, they covered a Clash song. Big turn off. I don't like Weezer as it is, but I gave a listen to the songs on iTunes. Just as horrible as all their other records. I can never put a finger on why exactly I do not like this band, but now I have a reason. They butchered a good song.
Five for Fighting - Unless you're a mom, don't get it. The piano parts sound like all their other piano parts. I once thought the lead singers voice was cool, now it is just annoying. All their lyrics are really predictable too. Again, maybe your mom would like it, but don't waste money on it for yourself.
David Archuleta - He has a Christmas cd? It is bad enough he got as far as he did on American Idol, now he is ruining beautiful Christmas songs too? What has this world come to?
Bowling for Soup - I thought they died back when 1985 became last summers anthem, in 2005. They probably should have pretended they died then.
DO WASTE YOUR TIME on the new:
Where the Wild Things Are Soundtrack - Karen O is brilliant anyways but put her on the soundtrack for what is going to be one of the best movies in a long time, and you get a supernova. The soundtrack is so pure and lovely. Worth every cent!
Bob Dylan - Now, this Christmas cd, Christmas in the Heart, is amazing. Bob Dylan singing 'Ill be home for Christmas' almost brings tears to my eyes and makes me super glad it is almost time to blare my Christmas tunes. He could sing that horrid song, 'Mary Did you Know' and I would probably enjoy it.
Michael Buble - Everyone knows I am weak in the knees for crooners. So of course I adore Crazy Love, Michael's new album. His songs make me wish I lived in the 40's where they had swinging night clubs where girls wore cute little dresses, chain smoked and drank martinis and the boys wore suits, hats and fought for their lady. Just listen to some of the songs and try NOT to picture you in that era.
Fanfarlo - I must admit, I am a sucker for album covers. If it looks cool, I am attracted and have to listen. This was one of them. It has two girls on it, its nothing special, but it caught my eye. So, I gave it a listen and fell in love. The lead singer's voice sounds like someone else, I just can not put a finger on it. If you know who, tell me! It is driving me crazy.
A Rocket to the Moon - Yeah, I know. I am stupid for putting this in my 'your time on it section'. I can not help it. I have a few bands who are guilty pleasures and ARTTM just happens to be one of them. I started listening to Nick Santino clear back in ohhh, maybe 2006 and was hooked by his catchy beats and cute lyrics. Sometimes, the lyrics make me want to puke and other times they make me smile because I am having a bad day.
Robert Francis - Before Nightfall might become my favorite album for a week or two. Simply amazing. Just listen to it.
The Excuse.
So I have no Internet in my apt until I get a cord thing because our wireless decided to not work. Aaaand I am poor and have to wait till I go home again to get a cord (thanks mommy and daddy). Sooo, that is why there has been a lack of awesome blogs lately.
I really don't like sitting in the computer lab where people could read over my shoulder what I am writing, although they could read it anyway. Weird, I know.
but that is my little update. Hopefully i will get a cord this weekend, and next week the blogs will be flowing like normal again.
Also, this no internet thing has put a HUGE damper on my New Music Tuesdays, so please, leave me some good bands I need to check out on iTunes when i get my internet back.
Thank ya much.

Let down.
"Please don't let me down." - That was the end of a blog I wrote awhile back.
Well, I was definitely let once again. I am done this time. This was the last straw. I mean it with every fiber of my being. You had your shot and you fucking blew it. You lied. Every word you have been spitting my way the past few months have been nothing but lies. I do not know why I thought this time would be different. Maybe I thought you had grown up, but you haven't. You disappointed me and made me look like an idiot in front of everyone again. "Sarah, he is just going to hurt you again", "Sarah, you know he won't show up. Something will 'come up'". Well everyone, you were right. He didn't show, something 'came up', and I got hurt once again. I gave you second, third and sixtieth chances. I should have stopped at the second one. People like you never change, when will I learn.
I took down that damn picture of us again in my car. I took it down and held it out the window. The air was ripping at it, dying to take it to a far away place so I would never have to look at it again. Instead I jammed it back into the glove box one and final time.

The Little Things.
What is your worst fear; something you cannot touch? The future. I hate not knowing where I will be 10 years, 5 years, 1 year, 30 minutes from now. I am scared because I don't know who that special someone will be in my life. I am scared because I don't know where my job will take me. I want to know every detail of the future. Time is something else that is a fear, although, I guess that could go along with future to an extent.
What makes you truly happy? (Something that involves no one else.)I am happy when I am sitting in my room, window open, tunes floating from my speakers, incense burning and a book or journal in my hand. I am happy when I am able to watch the sunset during the fall, wearing my grandpa's flannel and listening to frank Sinatra. I am also very happy when I am able to just cruise around in my car blaring tunes and simply just thinking of everything under the sun.
How do you cure your loneliness?Simply put, music. I have a few select bands that I can put on and its like they are medicine. They cure my loneliness and make me realize I'm really not alone at all.
What is the most tiring book you've ever read, but finished?Tough question. I have always been a book worm. I do not think I have ever had a tiring book. I enjoy reading and am always ready to take on a new book or novel. If I had to choose though, I guess Great Expectations during Freshman year of high school.
What are five things you want to do before your time here is done?
1. Go back to Conor's house, and not be terrified of being in his presence. (took Lauren's idea, because its so true)
2. Teach in Africa.
3. Travel the world.
4. Have a family.
5. Make a difference is someones life.
Tell us some things about your best friend. She is the most beautiful, strong, intelligent and amazing person I have ever met. She is sarcastic beyond belief and it is what makes her who she is. She has big dreams and I hope to God she lives them to their fullest. She has been by my side since day one. She is the best friend I didn't even have to look for. Without her, I would not be who I am today. Her heart is the size of the universe. She never judges me, not matter what stupid decision I make. She tells me how it is and never lies to me. She is my other half and I couldn't be more grateful for her.
We've all been jealous of our best friend. Why?
I'm jealous of how tiny she is. I'm jealous that she has found love and I am still searching. She is super smart and I only wish I could be half as smart as she is. I'm jealous that she is still at home close to family while I am far away.
Do you have a dream job?
Managing a band.
Teaching in Africa.
Owning a record store.
just to name a few...
Have you ever thought about why your favorite color is your favorite color?
Turquoise. I suppose it is my favorite because it reminds me of the sky in Iowa on a perfect summer day. It reminds me of the color of the ocean in my favorite vacation spot, Cayman Islands.
Describe your favorite outfit.
Skinny jeans, a v-neck t-shirt, flannel or a sweater, and TOMS shoes.
It's 9 a.m. are you still sleeping? If not, what are you doing?
I hardly ever sleep past nine these days. Today was the second day in over two months I have slept past that. I am usually at school, working, or starting my day off somehow.
Describe three of your most unattractive qualities. (Not physical.)
I pop my pinky knuckles way too much.
I laugh at everything and its always super loud.
I don't forgive people very well.
Describe three of your most attractive qualities. (Not physical.)
I have a huge heart.
I tell things the way they are. (I find that attractive, others don't)
I will help others whenever need be.
Which was easier?
Both were alright to answer.
Is today going to be a good day?
Why yes, I do believe it will be. Got some good news, might hang out with a cool boy, no classes, its sunny AND it's Friday.

Admiration.
I think Craig Owens and I are meant to be best friends. Too bad we have only met once. All the words he writes are exactly what and how I feel about things in my life. I think I am in love with his talented mind.
"Hey, I saw you during our set. I noticed your sweatshirt. I love Modern Life is War. I saw them a few weeks back" - Craig
"Oh, Awesome. Yeah, they are good. Can I get a picture with you?" - Me
"You want a picture with me? How about I get a picture with you?" - Craig
I'm pretty sure this picture was taken sometime in 2006 at The House of Bricks.

Visions.
You will be the one I miss the most. However, I have yet to see you in over a week. I had visions of my last week in this town as being different than this. I had visions of us living out our last few days of summer together, like old days. I had visions of us squeezing the last bit of sun out of the day before the moon set high. These visions were quite lovely, yet they were only visions. My last week here and I have been in bed before eleven each night texting him until I fall asleep. My last week here and I am living inside my four walls. Summer has come to an end and dear, I did not spend enough time with you this summer. It's our own faults, we had big dreams that faded to quickly. I regret that now. I am wishing I had spent more of my last summer at home with the one who has been my rock, my shoulder to lean on and my other half for almost 21 years now. I am scared to death to leave. I am afraid things will change. I have always felt like this, that is why those visions were so lovely to me. I hate growing up and growing apart. I pray to God this does not happen with us. I pray to God I will always have visions of us. And I pray to God those visions will happen and not stay in my mind as this summers' did.

Pretty much...
Some people come into our lives and quickly go.
Some stay for awhile and leave footprints on our hearts.
And we are never, ever the same.
- I don't know who said this quote, but it couldn't be more true.

6 1/2 days to go.
In one week, I will not be in town anymore.
Just incase you were all wondering.
Or caring.

Lost!
It was two years ago. We have been through so many ups and downs in our relationship. There are times I hate you and there are times I swear I still think I love you. Lately, I have been thinking about you a lot. Not a day goes by that there isn't something that reminds me of you. I was really strong a month ago. I let her take the picture of you and I down in my car and stuff it in the glove box. Today, I caved and put it back in its place. Today I put the picture with our smiling faces back up so I am reminded of what was. Dear, you have no idea how much I miss you. At times I think it is best we were never anything. Days like today, I think its the worst mistake we ever made, not being together. I believe in fate though. I believe I meet people for a reason. I believe the people I meet and still talk to are there for a reason, a good one. I believe I have been thinking about you a lot for a reason. I'm not sure what that reason is, but I hope it is a good one. Please don't let me down.

Bitter? Probably.
I am so sick of reading about everyones amazing love lives. I don't care about it, really. Stop posting it everywhere and flaunting it. So you're happy, great. The whole world doesn't need to constantly hear about it. The whole world doesn't need to see it either. Posting a million pictures of you and your lover gets old after awhile. Maybe I am just bitter cause I don't have it and most likely never will. (yes, i really think i never will) But really, it gets annoying. So everyone on MySpace, Facebook and Twitter, lets take your love life flaunting down a notch. Thanks.

"You desperately want to be free of the self-imposed limits that have been holding your creativity back. The Sun's entry into your social 11th House can shine the supportive light of friendship on you, encouraging you to be bold. Risky business is not advised, but decisive action that is backed up by a sound plan can be a winning combination."
man, I love this one for today. it is so spot on. it is like it knows me. new friends are on the way and hopefully they will be the supportive light i need!

If this is home, why does it feel so alone?
Sometimes she wishes what people said to her were true. She wishes they meant what they said. She wishes they had time for her. She feels as if she has been forgotten. She leaves in less then a month now. No one will notice. She sits at home every night. No one calls with a "Want to go somewhere?" The answer from her would most likely be "No" due to the fact she can't stand this town and its feel sorry for me people any longer. It would be the gesture that would make her happy.
If the things people said to her were true. She would be on a plane out west for a few days in a week or two. She would be going to see her favorite band. She would be chillin in Iowa City. She would be with him. Or him. Or him.
If the things people said to her were true. She would be road tripping. She would be relaxing. She would be laughing. She would be with her. Or her. Or her.
Instead.
She is alone.
Alone.
Alone.
She is starting feel like everyone in this town. Feel sorry her! Feel sorry for her! Feel sorry for her!
Do not feel sorry though.
She will be okay.
She will be alright.
She will be great...
In time.
If the things people said to her were true. She would be on a plane out west for a few days in a week or two. She would be going to see her favorite band. She would be chillin in Iowa City. She would be with him. Or him. Or him.

Just as Guilty
Yesterday, while working, I got asked a question, "So, do you believe Michael Jackson was guilty of the horrible things he did?" I replied, very seriously, "No, I don't think he was guilty". I am pretty sure I got the most evil and and worst hate look I have ever got in my life. I kind of just laughed at their look while they shook their head in disgust. I am sorry, but you asked me and I replied.
It's not like I think what he did was right, letting a young boy sleep in his bed. But I do not believe he molested them. I just think he had a deep love for children and it was taken the wrong way. My family was talking about it and we think if there had been a woman figure living in the house, non of these accusations would have happened.
It seems as if no one can look past what they hear to look deep inside people to find the truth. Yeah, Michael was a little different from the rest of us. Honestly, I think I would be too if I had to live the life he lived. The guy went through so much growing up. It is hard to even imagine what life must have been like for him. The media really pounded the fact that he was charged for molestation into the ground. But, what about all the money he spent on children who were less fortunate? What about all the time he spent going to hospitals and visiting these children, where people witnessed him being nothing more then amazing to the children? Where was the media to pound that side of Michael Jackson into the ground?
Who cares if he had plastic surgery. Who cares if he took pills to bleach his skin, or if it really was his skin disease. Who cares if he made the dimple in his chin. Who cares about all of that? It is non of our business. It was not personally effecting any one of us, only him. If he was happy with doing all of that, so let it be. Who cares if he put masks on his children to hide their identity. It was probably one of the smartest things to do. Who cares if he is or is not the biological father to his children, they are his and he is theirs. He was all they knew and they were his world. Just let them be.
This is what I believe. I guess if people want to look at me as if I am crazy for that, then go ahead. I suppose I am a bit like Michael in that sense, I want to see the good in people and not the bad. I want the world to understand that there is a lot of love out there and it needs to be given to people who do not receive it like they should. If that has become a crime, I am just as guilty as he was.
Watching parts of his memorial just shows how great of a man he was. The friends that spoke highly of him highlighted his greatness, kindness and love for the world. It is sad to think that the world has just slightly begun to realize this after his death and not while he was still here.
He was the greatest entertainer to live. He has accomplished more in a life time then anyone has or probably ever will. The man sold over 750 million albums. It's a feat most likely no one will ever do for a long, long time.
Michael Jackson was, is, and always will be...the King of Pop.

Horoscope.
They make me laugh sometimes.
"You have many interesting ideas about love today and you eagerly follow the connections in your mind from one pleasant thought to another. You are able to let your imagination take you on quite a ride, but sooner or later you remember that there is a difference between your daydreams and reality. Nevertheless, don't be in too much of a hurry to return to earth. As long as you are aware of what's happening, there's no harm in exploring your fantasies."

The Weight of a School Boy Crush.
Most of us have dreams where we get to meet that one person who has influenced us in more ways then one. The person who spoke to us through words we could never get just right. The person who knew exactly what we were going through, even though they had never met us. We all have that one person...singer, writer, actor or maybe just a normal person.
The day started out slow and kept dragging on. The two hour drive to Omaha, Nebraska seemed to stretch on for an entire day. The weather was weird: sunny, rainy, sunny and very much humid. We entered the town I swear I am meant to live in. I felt at home walking the streets and spending way to much time inside Homer's. That town does something to me. I adore that city and its lights more than anything.
As the day stretched on, dusk finally fell over the Anchor Inn with boys and girls in their cutest outfits hoping he will catch a glimpse of them and remember them for the next time. The boys and girls fell into place as Michael Runion took the stage while Deep Sea Diver followed him. The alcohol started to set into some and they felt the amazing vibes and effects it had as Tilly and the Wall tap danced and sang their way through their amazing set. As night officially set, everyone got anxious. The ones they had been anticipating were about to go on. As Conor and the boys of The Mystic Valley Band set in, the crowd became one, or so they should have...
Three hours and five new friends later, the adrenaline rush came to a close for most. For a few lucky ones, it was just at its peak.
"Conor Oberst is a dick." "All Oberst cares about is himself. He doesn't give anyone the time of day" "I've heard he is a huge douche" "All he cares about is himself and his drugs" - these are the words I have read and heard many times.
If a warm smile and a handshake to a couple of strangers on his bus is being a dick, then yes, Conor the biggest dick I have ever met. If letting three outsiders in his house and letting them chill for a few hours after the show means he only cares about himself and no one else. Then yes, the above statements are true.
However, I beg to differ with the statements people make about him. He is so intriguing. The way he talks is captivating; completely in deep thought one moment and laughing about chicken a split second later. He is by far the one person I have dreamt of. The dream became reality quite quickly and faded into another dream just as fast.
Jason was a doll as well. Exact opposite of what I expected him to be. I was going into the night thinking he would be distant and almost forced to be nice to us because Amanda was there. However, that vibe was never put off. Super cool and a really down to Earth guy. I will always be grateful to him for being genuinely nice to us.
Today, I'm not sure whether or not Conor remembers what I look like, but I really do not care. I don't care if he remembers he apologized at least five times for his house smelling bad. I don't care if he remembers taking Lauren's little green lighter. I really do not care.
I got a sneak peak into the life of a great musician that has been there for me for about six years. I got to spend a little time standing next to the great mind that has sang "Hunny, don't you weep. There is nothing as lucky, as easy, or free" night after night into my ear. That is all I really care about.
And, with a sweet smile, opening of the gates and a kiss blown in our direction. We ended the night.
Till next time.
Mr. Oberst,
I adore your shag carpet, it was quite soft.

P.S. We didn't say 'Goodbye' to you. That means we will be seeing you again.

It was only AP.
I am supposed to be sleeping right now. I have a big and exciting day ahead of me tomorrow, but I can not sleep. Not now anyways.
For anyone that knows me, they know I am a dear fan of The Beat Strings. I have been since the day I heard them four long years ago. Adam has this very distinct voice that is unique and draws you in from the first word. Some people have compared him to Robert Smith of The Cure. This, I guess does not sit well with Adam. A recent blog wrote by him stated he is changing is voice due to the recent c.d. review done in the Alternative Press Magazine. In the review the author states that Adam sounds like Robert, yet it works.
I do not get why he would want to change his voice. It is what makes The Beat Strings the freaking Beat Strings.
Plus, the article was in AP. Not to be rude, but whoever writes the reviews for them sometimes seriously have no idea what they are talking about. They will give All Time Low or some shit band like that an amazing review and a great band Bright Eyes a bad review (those are just examples to get my point across). So really, this AP article should not have effected him. His voice has gotten them through 5 or more years of great music. Why change?
Sorry for this long rant, but I just don't get it.
I have been to many of your shows boys, had some great nights with you.
Please do not change...your music.

Iowa...Its in the Midwest, Right?
If you ever look at a map...you will see that the state of Iowa is in the middle of the United States. It is not on the West Coast or the South. So why is it people in this state think that they must act/talk like they are from one of those places? The girls here like to have long, super blonde hair, wear a lot of make up and dress like they are going to a club just to go to the store. They look like they should be on the next season of The Hills. They also have enough drama to be on the next season as well. Language for these girls consist of "Lyke oh em gee" "lyke no way" and any other thing that a modern day Clueless character would use. Their conversations only go as far as "I was so drunk last night. I can't even remember the guys name..." Then there are the boys here who live in the middle of a city and talk as if they are from the hills of Tennessee. They use sayings like "Git-r-done" or the word "Idear". I'm sorry, but "idear" is not a word, it is IDEA. We also do not have southern accents here in Iowa. So stop with the accent, thank you. You live in the city, not on a farm so stop wearing your farming clothes. Also, take showers boys. The people that actually live on farms in this state take more showers then the town boys who wish they lived on farms. I can not wait to get out of this place and move to a place where people embrace who they really are and stop trying to be what they aren't.
The End.
The End.

Letter to the unknown.
To Whom It May Concern,
Please stop appearing in my dreams. It is getting to be too much. I can not take it anymore. I want my dreams of far, far away places back. I want the dreams back of laughter and fun, not tears and sadness. I am trying to rid you for a reason, please do not haunt my dreams anymore.
Love always,
Sarah

A Little Favorite.
This has got to be one of my favorite quotes from a movie.
If only I could learn to live like that.
"I figure life's a gift and I don't intend on wasting it. You don't know what hand you're gonna get dealt next. You learn to take life as it comes at you... to make each day count." - Jack Dawson on Titanic.

Oh the dreams we dream.
I had a dream last night I was hanging out with 3 Doors Down and Jack's Mannequin. Super weird dream since I haven't listened to 3 Doors Down since I was probably in middle school when they were played all the time at the pool. And because I am not a Jack's fan, I am a Something Cooperate fan.
Hey Jealousy.
I hope one day you see my plane flying overhead and wish it were you. I hope you realize what you could have had and never will. I hope when you see my plane leaving the white trail behind, you get jealous. I hope you get jealous because I am making my dreams a reality, without you. I hope you get jealous because you never reached for your dreams. I hope you wonder where I am flying too, because trust me love, I will not be telling you.

Grumblings.
Why is it that all the wrong boys say all the right things?
I will never understand this concept.
The ones we never want in our lives ever again pull out all the lines that the boys you want in your life forever never do.
I hate it.
Anyways, today was long. I am so glad its over.
Oh and I HATE when the free songs on ITunes are country.
But LOVE when they have music in different languages free.
And why the HELL is Taking Back Sunday's new album 13 freaking dollars?
UGH I hate this economy and its rising prices.

It's now of the past.
I used to listen to this song and think that I was never going to be able to move on. This song described me for such a long time in my life. Now, I have moved on and the song means nothing to me, it is just a regular song now. It is kind of nice.
Can't Move On
by Automatic Loveletter
You build a heart
that's strong
Walls to last long
Its paper mache
You think the
battle's won
No use for shields
And guns
You'll need them now
That the lump takes a
home in your throat
With the words that
You're choking
as you try
To tell yourself its ok
Flying by time to gaze
But never face
Your stuck in the moment when you thought you were rolling but you cant move on
you feel like your able to love past the moment but you cant move on asking why asking why
why i cant move on
You can't go please stay
No don't stay go away
I'm left I'm right
I'm black I'm white
You ride a carousel
round and round till
the sickness grows inside
that lump takes a strangling hold
squeezes tight till your cold and tears run dry and where you once were worm now is tattered and torn crumbles and fades
Your stuck in the moment when you thought you were rolling but you cant move on you feel like your able to love past the moment but you cant move on asking why
asking why

Incomplete
Typical reaction

Frankly.
I am done with you. Completely. These childish games you are so infatuated in playing, I have outgrown them. I can not wait for the day you wake up and realize what you missed. It might not come soon, but someday love, someday it will come. I will no longer be the one you run to when things are not going right in other aspects of your life. Frankly, I do not care anymore. I cared for too long with nothing in return. I was there when you needed me. But where were you when I needed you? No where to be found.
This is like the weight of the world has been lifted off my shoulders. I wish I would have done this a year ago.

The Long Stretch.
Dreams of big cities and rooftops came a bit closer today.
With the sun setting across the horizon, a phone call was made.
Plans were thought out a bit more.
Promises were made.
Exchanging words of the future made the glimpse of hope more of a band.
Two young ones saw their lives become full of new adventures.
All there is to do now is wait.

Spot on, yo.
I read Lauren's blog...so I was interested in what the hell my horoscope said for today aaaand this is the result.
"You may have more spring in your step today, as if a new lightness of being has filtered all the way down to your toes. But your head, too, is affected as mental clouds that obscured the sky have now dispersed, allowing you to see the distant horizon. Luckily, the New Moon in your 9th House of Big Ideas can help you make exciting plans for your future. Give yourself permission to dream without worrying about the results."
Hmmm funny how these damn things are so spot on at times.

Isn't that the truth.
We all have done it. We all try to be clever by finding words from others to make sense of our day but, "...Sometimes there are no words, no clever quotes to sum up what's happened that day. Sometimes, the day just ends" - Hotch from Criminal Minds.

Tonight...
I am reminiscing about the Tooth & Nail Tour. This was in 2006 and the tour rolled through Des Moines and played at The House of Bricks. Jonzetta, The Classic Crime, Emery and Anberlin graced the stage for one of the most fun shows I have ever been to. I went with my dear friends Lauren and Kenzie. I met two people who would become amazing friends for what seemed too short of a time...John and Anton. Seriously, such a fun night. Jonzetta and The Classic Crime were fun bands to watch. I was just getting into Anberlin at the time and because of that show they have been high on my list of amazing bands. Emery put on one of the best shows I saw probably that entire year, and I saw a lot of shows that year.
Although 2006 was only a mere 3 years ago, it seems as if the music scene has changed so much. 2006 was by far one of the best years for music and for Iowa bringing in amazing shows. I wish I could go back to that year just for the music.
Playlist:
Who Needs Air - The Classic Crime
Blisters and Coffee - The Classic Crime
Get Ready - Jonzetta
Playing With Fire - Emery
Miss Behavin' - Emery

Summer fun?
This summer may have just gotten a bit better.
Road trips! Although they may be short, they may be the best thing ever.
Iowa City
Omaha
Chicago
elsewhere? Who knows.
Im pretty much excited for summer now.

4.
1. It is officially day six of summer vacation.
I am already pissed off about my work situation.
2. From day one of summer vacation until day 21 of summer vacation, I will have had three days off work.
Two of those days have already passed.
3. Next week between both jobs, I work 48 hours.
That is more then what full time people work.
Not cool.
4.I am going to have no free time and the pay off will be crap.
I will save a ton of money and my plans will fall through.
I guess a U.S. Roadtrip will have to do next summer.

So if anyone loves me, you should take me to Gurnee, Illinois on July 16, 2009.
We could be jammin out to Jesse McCartney...live.
How much fun would that be?!?!?
I know you wanna take me!!

:)
Even though it is a bit dreary out, today has been a good day.
I am done with school and now it is time for summer.
I went shopping.
I somehow spent close to 200 dollars and only 30 dollars was on myself.
I love my family and friends and like to buy them nice things.
The 30 dollars I spent was to buy:
Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band - Outer South
Meg & Dia - Here, Here and Here
Jesse McCartney - Departure:Recharged
so far, best 30 dollars I have spent in a long time. haha.
1. When did Jesse McCartney grow up? I still think of him as the little blonde haired 12 year old in Dream Street. He is far from that now. Yummmm. haha.
2. Just when I think Conor Oberst has outdone himself, he surprises me. He is amazing beyond words.
3. Meg & Dia are so cute, I just had to get the new album.
Dancin' to:
Body Language - Jesse McCartney
Told You So - Jesse McCartney
Air Mattress - Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band
Cabbage Town - Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band
Hug Me - Meg & Dia
The Last Great Star in Hollywood - Meg & Dia

It is about time.
Honestly, I just want tomorrow to come and be done with.
Why? It is my last final tomorrow. As of tomorrow around 11:30 a.m. I will be done with Des Moines Area Community College for the rest of my entire life. I will finally have my AA Degree and can move on with my life.
I can finally attend a REAL college where it does not feel like high school.
So excited!!

And the city lets them protect people?
Now, I don't like Forever the Sickest Kids or We the Kings...
but i do feel bad for these guys.
I have read about this story in a few different places.
Police at their finest.
Story is...the band was parked where they weren't supposed to be, so the dudes were moving it. The police thought the guys had bad attitudes even though they were doing what they were told. Things escalated and a few of the dudes with the bands got pretty hurt by the police.
Crazy shit man.
If you listen to the things being said by onlookers in both videos, its clear the police did not need to use brutlaity on the guys.

This video was filmed by a fan outside. Its scary.

Joke.
It was once said that a black man would be president the day pigs fly.
And what do you know, 100 days into office...
Swine flu.
oaky, well I thought it was kind of funny.

Someday.
You keep saying someday.
You have been saying someday for two years now.
Hunny, if our someday was supposed to happen, it would have happened today.
Today, was our someday.
I felt it.
The weather was just like it was on our first day.
Rainy, wind, lightening and thunder.
We do not live in a fairy tale.
I am getting older and I can not keep waiting for someday.
I have to wake up and realize that someday might have already passed.
We can not keep living in this dream.
Reality is here.
The false hopes held so high, they need to come down.
Someday was today.
Listening to:
How do you sleep - Jesse McCartney
All the love in all the world - Piers Faccini
Deep Blue Sea - Piers Faccini

Personal Ad.
So we had to do an assignment in Human Sexuality over personal ads. So I thought I would do one. I changed it up a bit though, its not a normal personal ad, its got my own twissst. So enjoyyy.
If you are from the Midwest like me. Cool, I guess. If you are from the coasts even better. If you are from the south, I can work with that.
You absolutely must be older then me. A good four to five years is best. Over the age of 28? Go away, thanks. Under the age of 21? Go away, thanks. 22? Lets have fun. Get the picture? Good.
Must be TALL. Over six foot is preferable, yet if a bit shorter I suppose that is okay. Below five foot eleven inches and we are going to be friends. I do not need a boy shorter then me.
Color of hair does not matter. However, I am not a fan of redheads. Or fake blondes. If you highlight your hair with blonde, please keep walking. Long hair is required. I do make exceptions, if I do, you're pretty special. I'm not really into the whole Ambercrombie short spiked hair. If you are going to have a shaved head, it better look good on you and you better have the attitude someone with a shaved head would have.
Must NOT listen to bands such as All Time Low, Forever the Sickest Kids or Boys Like Girls. My ears bleed at the sound of those bands and if I hear them one more time I might go deaf or quite possibly die. We do not want that. Also, NO Nickleback, Stained, Hinder, Creed, Saving Able listening. They do not know how to make real music. Absolutely NO Avenged Sevenfold either.
Please listen to bands such as Copeland, Conor Oberst, Jenny Lewis, Bright Eyes, The Spill Canvas, The Good Life, Cursive, The Toxic Airborne Event, Anthony Green, Cinematic Sunrise, The Clash, Ramones, Morrissey, The Sex Pistols, Modern Life is War, Tori Amos, Amos Lee, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sam Cooke. These people all have a great deal to say, you must be able to listen and fully understand them.
Must NOT have crazy ex girlfriends who want to kick my ass because they broke up with you and are now with someone else. If they think they still own you and you let them think that, you have problems and do not need to be with someone like me.
MUST, must, MUST have some sort of musical talent. Singing, play guitar/bass, drums, keyboards. ANYTHING, well maybe not the clarinet and flute but you get it. Being able to play songs on the guitar that you learned in middle school music class does not count either. Real talent please.
Going on road trips and adventures is something I love to do. Please make sure you like to do this as well. Find new places, people and things. We only live once, please know how to live it well.
Must have an education. High school drop outs, stay away. A four year degree or working towards a degree is amazing.
I have morals and goals in life. Please be able to respect them and understand them fully. If you argue with me about them, we will not work. Understand I have a huge passion for TOMS shoes and children in Africa. I want to go on a shoe drop with TOMS and I want to go teach over in Africa. You question me about this in the aspect that it is dumb, I will leave you faster then a gizelle on the plains.
Please make sure you are literate. Illiterate people are not welcome. If you always spell 'you' as 'u' and 'are' as 'r' I will get very annoyed by you.
I voice my opinion about most everything. Be able to take it and not get offended. I am quite sarcastic at times as well. Please be able to take a joke as well as dish them.
Roller coasters and Oceans excite me. If they don't excite you, I would like to know who sucked the life out of you.
I do not sleep well next to someone. I can not touch people while I sleep. However, I adore holding hands and cuddling, at the appropriate times. I sleep with my fan on high in the summer. I fall asleep with my ipod most nights and I love bubble baths. I sleep with a stuffed animal and three pillows. I love eating corn on the cob because I am from Iowa and its the best. I drink kool-aid in the summer. I eat ice cream in the winter. I do not drink hot drinks because I can not stand hot drinks.
I'm awesome if you are willing to get to know me. Otherwise, I'm kind of a bitch.

Sweetness.
Today was a good day.
The sun was shining when I woke up.
It was super warm out.
I could smell summer creeping in the air.
I drove with my windows down on the interstate.
I wore a tank top.
I ate a salad for lunch.
I worked three hours and no body showed up.
I loved that for once.
I read children's stories that I forgot I loved so much.
I did yoga in my sauna of a house.
My brother got 2nd at Drake Relays.
I had a text conversation with an old friend.
aanndd
I ate a piece of chocolate.

4-20
420 is not a freaking holiday.
Seriously people, you smoke pot every other day, today is no different.
It makes me sick to think people actually "celebrate" smoking pot today.
Today is Holocaust Remembrance day.
The sad thing is half the people on this continent don't know that because they think it is Smoke Pot day.
It is pathetic to think people smoke pot over remembering something so tragic in the history of the world.
Anyways, that is a short version of my rant for the day.

After an hour straight of hard crying and a bit too much alcohol, a hot bubble bath and a Lauren and Sarah's Hate Playlist, I realized something. Everything happens for a reason. I have always been a strong believer in this. It is hard for me sometimes to live by it though. Today though, today is the day I start. I am sick of trying to guide my life where I think it should go. I need to let life take me where it knows I need to go. I can not go on with this pity party I hold for myself every few months. It is getting old and I am sick of it. It never makes things better nor does it ever solve anything. I am turning over a new leaf. It will take a lot of baby steps to fully get there, but I know I can do it. It is what I need.
Lauren and Sarah's Hate Playlist:
Everything I Once Had - The Honorary Title
Silver Bullet (acoustic version) -Hawthorne Heights
Album of the Year - The Good Life
Haligh, Haligh, A Lie, Haligh - Bright Eyes
You're So Vain - Carley Simon
Intensity in Ten Cities - Chiodos

Chain me free.
I feel as if I have chains attached to me.
Every time I finally figure out the solution to freeing myself,
You come back.
The chains grasp around me once again
Harder then the times before.
Each time you come back around,
A little piece of me gives up hope.
There will never be another quite like you.
It's my fault though.
These chains,
I placed them here.
There is no one to blame but myself.
One day I hope to be free.
One day I hope you can come around.
And when you come around,
The chains will still lay broken on the floor.
Every time I finally figure out the solution to freeing myself,
You come back.
The chains grasp around me once again
Harder then the times before.

Curious.
How in the hell do we still dream about people who were in our lives over four years ago?
Is it really true that we dream about what we think about before we go to bed?
If so, I do not remember thinking about this person.
At all.
Why does he always pop up in my dreams?
I feel like it almost makes me a creeper.
I know we can't help what we dream, but still.
I am not complaining about this dream.
I just feel weird.
and.
I just find dreams intriguing and I wish I understood them.

Love Affair.
If I could have a Love Affair with a band, Copeland would be my preference.
They saved me once or twice.
They are playing tonight.
I am not attending.
I will probably cry all night.

Familiar Territory
Back to dreaming mode again.
Being giddy over something that most likely will not happen.
Planning for the future.
Hopes high.
Big smiles and little "Eeks"

Record.
53 hours of not getting or sending a text. That is a new record for me by like 40 some hours. Lauren just sent me a text to break it. ha.
I hate how I have nothing to write about anymore.

Uneventful.
My life has become so uneventful, it is not even funny.
1. I have not hung out with anyone for an entire week.
2. I have not received a text message today.
3. I have not sent a text message today.
4. I have not actually received or sent a text in over 36 hours.
5. I sat in Gina's room for three hours yesterday just to not be alone. (the person that does my hair does not count for hanging out with anyone)
6. I actually enjoyed the drive to Ankeny today, that NEVER happens.
aaannnddd
7. I'm actually not mad I have to work all weekend because it will give me something to do.
I also took out my bad mood on 12 year olds who decided they could disrespect me and talk to me as if I am no one. I smiled the whole time while they were almost crying due to the words that were flowing from my mouth. Hmm...I think I need help. heh.

April 16th, 2009
That date is the date where you should all go without shoes.
Or maybe even just down to the end of your driveway to get the mail.
TOMS shoes is doing an amazing thing.
Everyone needs to know what it is like to go a day with a shoes.
People in the U.S. take simple things like shoes for granted.
Children in developing countries sometime never even own a pair of shoes.
We all need an eye opener for a day.
So just try it.
I wish I gave my speech about TOMS that day instead of this Thursday.
Don't know what the hell TOMS shoes is?
Check it yo.

Secret Project.
Been thinking about doing something big lately.
Going to take a leap of faith and start rolling with the ideas.
Could happen, could go no where.
It is worth a try.
Make a difference.
Change a life.
How cool would that be?

Happy Birthday Grandpa!!!!!
You would be 77 years young today. We would probably be getting lunch and taking a walk or something cute and fun like that because that is what we used to do.
We all miss and love you so so so much. I know I haven't been to see you in awhile and I am sorry for that, but soon I will come say Hello. It is hard for me sometimes...but not a day goes by that I don't think of you.
Love,
Your Blondie.

Dream to Reality.
I had the best dream ever last night. I dreamt that I put on a show at Aces and all the profits went to children in Africa who needed money for education. A ton of people showed up and we raised so much money.
Now I really want to do this! It would be one of the coolest things ever if I could seriously do this. Hmmm, can I make it reality?
Of course my dream had The Maine, Aaron Rothe, Sonny Moore and Doctor!Doctor! buuuut who cares...I don't need them. HA!

Old Tunes.
Does anyone else remember the band Crash Test Dummies?!
Boy did I used to love these guys.
I do not know what made me ever think of them, but when I did I knew I needed their album that had the songs Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm and In The Days of a Caveman.
Sooo I bought it and it reminds me of dance when I was in 1st grade. We used to warm up to some of their stuff.
They just don't make music like they did in 1993.

We All Roll Along.
In regards to my last post I looked up some of their music...I never knew a song by The Maine would make me almost cry.
The lyrics seriously get to me. Fall of 2005 to Summer of 2006 are explained in this song to a Tee.
I don't care if you like The Maine or not, just listen and I bet it will make you think of a time that made you happy.

History in the making.
Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be writing this. I have a feeling I should be ashamed of myself, but I'm not. Being honest about music and the actual musicians is what I have always been all about. I have been very open to say that I am NOT in any way a fan of All Time Low or Forever the Sickest Kids. These two bands drive me insane and I believe that they have let fame over take them and they just plain suck. Then there is The Maine. I put these guys in the same category with ATL and FTSK yet I never really gave them the chance. They seem to be in Iowa every month and all the scene girls flock to their shows. I just figured they were all alike. I remember downloading some of their early stuff in early 2007, long before they were big and thought they were just like everyone else.
In the April issue of AP The Maine is featured as one of the 100 bands of 2009 to know. I decided to read the article. I was kind of surprised. I had no idea these kids were my age and younger. I thought they were all in their 20s letting fame get to their heads. However, I am completely wrong. I read the article to find out that Pat Kirch and John O'Callaghan are just normal 19 and 20 year olds who are living their dream. I did a little more research on these boys and watched some Youtube videos of them...not exactly their music, but them while they are on tour. They are just down to earth dudes that don't think they are famous and don't let the fame get to them. Now, I am still not a huge fan of their music (although I kind of can jam to their acoustic shit due to John's unique voice) but I can defiantly respect them a bit more then I used to and much more then ATL and FTSK. I don't think I will ever see them live, but if I do, maybe I will gain even more respect for them. For now though, the band members themselves are now in my book of respectable musicians due to their attitudes and the life they lead.

Dearest Thunderstorm,
You were one of my best friends last summer. Thank you so much for coming to visit once again. It has been too long since we last had a meeting. Please, feel free to stick around tonight. Also, do not feel shy to stop by more often. I enjoy your visits. When you come to visit, I find it much easier to fall asleep.
Love your friend.

New Music.
I recently bought some new music.
All of them are amazing and I can't stop listening to any of them.
- William Elliott Whitmore's "Animals In The Dark" did not fail on any level. Every song is sung with such emotion and "Mutiny" will get you hooked with the first listen. Definitely one of my favorite albums of 2009.
- No one can go wrong with the Beat Strings. "Fang in Rain" is nothing short of amazing. It makes you want to dance. Plus who doesn't enjoy listening to Adam sing his way through songs?
-Matt's voice on "The Island Moved the Storm" is intriguing and it draws you in and won't let you go.
-Kelly Dalton's 2007 EP "Home" is short and simple. It is brilliant.
